Admission
Your questions about the USAMVBT admission process! Where and when to apply? How are admittees selected? Is there a minimum age requirement?
Application
To apply for Veterinary Medicine at USAMVBT, we invite you to go directly to the website of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine where you will find the list of all necessary documents:
https://www.usab-tm.ro/en/admission-40/admission-11082
Dates
In general, the admission period starts at the beginning of June and the deadline is at the end of July. Specific dates are mentioned in the admission page of the university's website (link posted above).
Certification and Translation
-
Make photocopies or print your documents.
-
Go to town hall to have them certified as true to the originals (a stamp on each page on the front side of course!).
-
Scan everything and send it to your translator (by email in general or by post depending on your translator).
-
Depending on your country, some documents may require additional certification. If you want more information don't hesitate to contact the university: +40 256277008
→ Contacts for the translation of your documents:
-
Ina Traduceri is a Romanian certified translator, it will cost you 7-10 times less with a translator located in Romania. It's very fast, everything is done by email, in a few days you have your docs translated at https://inatraduceri.ro/
CNRED
You need to prepare 2 files: one for the university and one for the Ministry of Education (CRNED).
The CNRED file is necessary for the equivalence of your high school diploma/grades with Romania and must be sent to the University, not directly to the CNRED.
A CNRED file must be sent with each file. However, a single transfer for the CNRED is sufficient, so put the same proof of transfer to the CNRED in each CNRED file.
You do not need to worry about the whereabouts of the CRNED file, the University fully takes care of the procedures if your file is complete. If documents are missing, the University will contact you, not the CRNED.

Other
prerequisites
The faculty does not take into account the higher studies done and the internships / volunteering in its selection criteria but if in doubt send photocopies of your diplomas / reports in higher studies, internship certificates, letter of recommendation or letter of motivation (do not do not translate them if it is not explicitly requested in the list of documents to be provided) this shows part of your motivation and could perhaps work in your favor if the faculty decides that it ultimately needs select between students with the same grades for example. We repeat that these are only our own assumptions, because for the moment we have not seen the faculty mention its criteria for the selection in such cases.
Note to the BAC
FOR FRENCH STUDENTS!
The BAC mark is a very important criterion for selection (80% of the final admission mark)! But the arithmetic mean of high school marks also have their weight (20% of the final admission mark), some candidates with more than 14 Bac for the 2021 session were not admitted. because their high school marks lowered their final admission mark.
For all USAMVBT students, the French Bac scores range from 10.5 to 17.5.
The lowest Bac mark for the FR 2019/2025 promotion is 10.8
The lowest Bac mark for the FR 2020/2026 promotion is 11.2
The lowest Bac mark for the FR 2021/2027 promotion is 13.5
The lowest Bac mark for the EN 2020/2026 promotion is 10.5
The lowest Bac mark for the EN 2021/2027 promotion is 12.23
The highest Bac mark for the FR 2019/2025 promotion is 14.6
The highest Bac mark for the FR 2020/2026 promotion is 16.4
The highest Bac mark for the FR 2021/2027 promotion is 17
The highest Bac mark for the EN 2021/2027 promotion is 17.5
The average of the Bac marks for the FR 2019/2025 promotion is around 12.5
The average of the Bac marks for the FR 2020/2026 promotion is around 13.7
The average of the Bac marks for the FR 2021/2027 promotion is around 15.1
The average of the Bac marks for the EN 2021/2027 promotion is around 13.8
We observe that the minimum Bac mark to be admitted to the FR section increases by 2.3 points for the 2021 admission session compared to the 2020 admission session.
We observe that the minimum Bac score to be admitted to the EN section increases by 1.73 points for the 2021 admission session compared to the 2020 admission session.
It is very likely that this minimum mark will be higher and higher for the next admission sessions.
Type of BAC
FOR FRENCH STUDENTS!
The type of BAC is not looked at when selecting USAMVBT, a professional BAC is as valuable as a general BAC at this university.
But note that 2⁄3 of French students at USAMVBT have passed a Scientific Bac. With the new general Bac, we can even consider that nearly 90% of students have a general Bac with a scientific majority.
Higher education
FOR FRENCH STUDENTS!
At USAMVBT we have 1/3 of French students who just have the Bac. But many of us have already completed higher education, including half who have started or obtained a BCPST, a License or an ATS prep.

Average age
(Data from 2021)
The average age of first year entrants is around 20 years old. But the age gap in an academic year can be very large, from 16 to 28 years old. There is no age limit for the admission to the university. One third of the students entering the 1st year are 18 years old.
The legend for the stats is in French, translation from left to right:
- Age of entrants in 1st year for the class of 2019-2025 (19 responses)
- Age of entrants in 1st year for the class of 2020/2026 (42 responses)
- Age of entrants in 1st year for the class of 2021/2027 (69 responses)
